Who are they?

Our most common activity is rescuing cats and dogs, but also responding  to any other animals in need and divert them to the concerned organizations. We do not have a shelter. We rely on fosterers and their temporary homes, to offer the animals a place that also helps to rehabilitate small insecurity issues while we find them a perfect home. We trap, neuter and release feral and stray cats. We support sterilization campaigns and not extermination campaigns. We operate a second hand shop that generates funds to support part of our animal welfare activities.

When the original group of dog lovers first came together, the outcome they envisaged was a kennel club for pedigree dogs, along the lines of the UK. Kennel Club. This was quickly overtaken by the more urgent need for an organisation to help protect and re-home dogs in dire circumstances. Over the intervening years, K9 Friends has gone from strength to strength, until today it is established to the point where it is known by most people in the U.A.E. who have an interest in man's best friend.

The Al-Ain Animal Awareness Association (AAAA) is a non-profit making organization run by a expatriate volunteers in our spare time. We rely on donations and fund-raising events to pay veterinarian bills and other related expenses. AAAA evolved from a group called Feline Friends in Al-Ain which initially dealt with stray cats until the growing stray dog population became too big to ignore. Because other kinds of tame animals have also needed to be rescued in past such as birds and rabbits, we decided to extend our efforts to all types of animals that may need our help in the area.

Owning a dog can be a fun and rewarding experience, it can also be a nightmare. Just like us, dogs have distinct personalities and speak thier own language. If you can't communicate properly it can be frustrating for both sides. This is where we come in. We help you and your dog get the best out of each other. Our pets should be a part of the family and like all family members they require a bit of training. We teach you how to teach your pet to be a pleasure for everyone. 

We provide services that support you and enable wider, responsible pet - human understanding.  We strive to enhance your relationship with your pets.  Our services promote wellbeing for pets and allow pet carers to interact more and enjoy quality time with their pets.
