VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
Sad is currently looking for hands on dog volunteers to help in the following areas:
- Dog walkers: We need reliable volunteers to walk the stray dogs we are trying to home. Get fit and feel good all at the same time by volunteering to do this kind deed!
- Foster Families: We are ALWAYS in need of new foster families and they are integral to rehabilitating and socialising the dogs we have to home. We need foster families for dogs, cats and small pets that we are seeking new homes for.
- Dog Trappers/Transporters : If you already have experience in this area, working for organisations like the RSPCA or if you are dog experienced and feel comfortable dealing with a frightened or distressed animal, then you could help SAD by volunteering as a trapper/transporter.
We are also looking for Volunteers who will help support the organisation in its day-to-day operations in the following areas:
Fund Raising: If you have previous experience of fund raising, or have good people skills and would be willing to organise events and approach possible sponsors then SAD needs your help.- Media coordinator – If you have experience in dealing with the media, or previous experience in publicity then SAD needs your help to get our message across to the wider community.
- Internet Advertising Co-ordinator: If you have experience in internet advertising, advertising or sales, then SAD needs your help
- Poster Making: If you have creative skills and know how to use a variety of computer programmes and software such as PowerPoint, Photoshop and so on, then SAD needs your help.
- Merchandise and Retail: We need people to research and co-ordinate the manufacture of products we can market as official SAD merchandise: t-shirts, water bottles, pens, mugs etc.
- Phone Volunteers: Offer to man the SAD phone for a 2 week period on rotation. Phone volunteers are required to deal with inquiries from the public and to receive information about stray dogs to pass on to those responsible for trapping and collection.
- Education Programme Volunteers: SAD has an education programme that we offer to primary and secondary schools. We present the programme in a lesson or assembly at the school and often take dogs with us to re-enforce learning. We are looking for volunteers to assist with the programme and its presentation to schools.
